These knives sport some of the best edge life out there! The blades are made with three layers, stainless steel on the cladding, and Aogami Super steel at the core. Aogami Super (Blue Super) steel is known for great edge retention, and is fairly easy to look after for a carbon steel, it rusts a bit slower than other carbon steels. The stainless cladding has a hammered (tsuchime) finish, and is left with the black finish (kurouchi) from the forging process, making for elegant contrast. The traditional style octagonal WA handles are made with Zelkova wood.
