Swedish Wood Carving Knives

We recently stocked some Sloyd style blades from Morakniv, made in Sweden. They are great for wood carving and whittling, and can handle a wide variety of materials and techniques. They are built with a three layer blade, with a core of hard carbon steel, and a cladding of softer mild steel. The grind is classic Scandinavian style, with a wide even bevel on both sides, that's easy to follow on a sharpening stone or strop. Check out our WOOD CARVING & WHITTLING COLLECTION

Brian Hanson's hand forged damascus knives are here!

I was stoked to meet Brian Hanson a few months ago, he just wandered into the shop one day and introduced himself! We talked knives for a while and he showed me some photos of the knives he has been making in the last few years. Like myself, he spent quite a few years cooking in restaurants, and his knives show it. He makes the knives that he would want to use. Now stocking 'Elegance' Series from K Sabatier!

We are super happy to stock the Elegance series from K Sabatier! We've been fans of the Authentique series for a long time, which is an old French style knife, with a distinctive round bolster. They have a slightly smaller handle though than what a lot of folks might expect from a European knife. The Elegance Series fills that need for a larger, heavier handle. They are also handled with Staminawood (also known as pakka wood) which is a laminated hardwood product that is super stable and has a distinctive red color.
