In Dan's Words: The blade is W2 steel. It was heat treated with a clay coating to create a hamon or temper line. The handle material is from Australia but I do not know the tree variety. I picked up a block of the wood a few years ago at the Blade Show in Atlanta. It is very hard and has a nice grain, takes a nice polish. The fittings on the blade are 303 stainless with thin black phenolic spacers. The vitreous enamel is multiple firings of a base coat of white ground flux and then a second firing of opaque red. The vitreous enamels are designed to be hard and durable with some percent borax, cobalt, and other safe metals. It is fired at 1500 F in the forge.  I decided that for a Chef's knife it should come with some kind of case. So I used cedar to make a storage case around the blade. It is sanded to 600 grit and then it has four coats of Tung Oil as a finish.
