The knife is drop-dead gorgeous and very comfortable to use. It is now my "daily slicer". However, while there is now question of the knowledgde and artistry of its creator,Takeshi Saji.
The only reason that I gave it a 4/5 is, I admit, petty. Out of the box, it was not as sharp as I thought it would be. It failed my over-ripe tomato test. Compared to to my very old carbon steel Sabatier it seemed kinda dull.
Of course I will sharpen it when I put aside a few hours to sharpen my good knives, but now I'm going to have to raise that chore's priority up a bit.
