Beautiful kasumi finish on these blades, done by Masaya Shimizu, an extremely skilled knife sharpener based in Sakai City. He worked for many years at Yamawaki Hamono, and has recently opened his own sharpening factory, and is producing knives with meticulous attention to detail.
The blades are made with Shirogami #2 steel, which has great edge formation and is really gratifying to sharpen. Handles are octagonal shaped magnolia wood with buffalo horn ferrules.
