K Sabatier 7" Santoku Authentique Stainless
K Sabatier 7" Santoku Authentique Stainless
A very popular shape from Japan, the santoku style is now being made by lots of Western knife makers too. The sides of the blade have grantons; small dimples that reduce sticking. This knife is great if you want the profile of a santoku, but want the toughness of a Western knife, making it at home in just about every kitchen.
The K Sabatier ‘Authentique’ series have a classic French profile, drop forged full tang blade with a round bolster and a sleek riveted handle. They are somewhat thinner and lighter than a typical German chef knife, with good cutting feel and food release. They can handle a wide variety of tasks, making them a great choice for any avid cook.
For 8 generations, the French company K Sabatier have been producing excellent professional level chef knives. Still a family run operation, the folks at K Sabatier have extensive relationships with the craftspeople in Thiers, France. From forging to handling to final fit and finish, the methods and materials have changed over the last 200 years, but the attention to detail and quality of workmanship has always been maintained.
